Ingredients in Tool House Cookies
- Flour: Use all-purpose flour
- Brown Sugar and Granulated Sugar: I use both sugars (granulated and brown) as they give extra sweetness and a shiny golden look.
- Baking Soda: Use baking soda to avoid flat cookies and to have perfectly risen cookies while baking.
- Salt
- Vanilla Extract: Pure Vanilla Extract
- Eggs: Large eggs (at room temperature)
- Chocolate Chips: Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
- Chopped Nuts: (I used pecans)
- Butter: Use room temperature unsalted butter at room you want to use salted butter omit the amount, omit the salt in the recipe.
How to make Nestle Toll House Cookies
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk the dry ingredients, 2 ¼ cups (270g) all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt, until they are fully combined. Set aside.
Add 1 cup softened butter (at room temperature), ¾ cup granulated sugar and ¾  brown sugar in a large mixing bowl with Stand mixer with paddle attachment or you can use an electric hand mixer and beat them until completely combined or the mixture becomes creamy.
Add 2 large eggs into the mixture but remember to add them one by one and beat the egg well after each addition until well incorporated and beat in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Slowly mix the flour mixture into the butter-sugar mixture until partially combined.
Next, add 2 cups (240g) of semi-sweet chocolate morsels and 1 cup of chopped nuts and mix properly until evenly distributed.
Form the dough into rounded balls and place them on baking sheet lined with paper and space them about 2 inches in between because they will spread as they bake.
Bake in the already preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until the cookie’s edges turn golden brown.
Once they are ready, carefully remove them from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes. Then, transfer them to the wire cooling rack to cool completely.
Recipe Tips
- You can use chocolate chips of any kind to your liking instead of Nestle Toll House.
- If your cookies are not spreading properly, it is better to chill the dough in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes and use parchment paper instead of ungreased sheets, as this will help the cookies bake evenly.
Storing and Freezing instructions
You can easily store Nestle Toll House cookies, as they stay fresh for a few days. Store them in a tightly closed container at room temperature for 3-5 days.
To store them for a longer period, freeze the baked cookies in a zip-lock bag or airtight container for up to 3 months. You can also store the cookie dough in the same way, and when you are ready to bake, it is better to bake for an extra 2 minutes.
